The holiday season is in full effect as we are nearly half-way through the month of December! Along with the shopping and decorating your Cypress Village apartment, there are several other ways you can “get into the holiday spirit.”

One of those ways is to get comfortable on that sofa of yours and watch a great holiday-centric movie! There are a multitude of fantastic movies out there and here are four “holiday” movies that are worth watching:

  1. ElfThis movie is one of Will Ferrell’s best performances and perhaps one of his most highly-quoted films in his repertoire, maybe behind Anchorman. The movie Elf is about a boy who was adopted by Santa Claus and tried to be an elf, only to discover he wasn’t and decides to visit Ne York to find his long-lost father, who is played by James Caan.
  2. The Santa ClauseThis is definitely one of the classics. Tim Allen reprised the holiday film with The Santa Clause, as he had to take the role of Santa Claus when the previous one fell off his roof on Christmas Eve.
  3. A Christmas Story This film seems to be played every holiday season and is always on TV, especially on Christmas Day. TBS is typically a station that will play the movie back-to-back for the entire day. A Christmas Story is about a family in the 1960s and a boy who desperately wants a BB gun as a gift.
  4. Four Christmases – We all know how visiting family for the holidays can be. Four Christmases is one of those movies that encompasses all of that as Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon have to visit all of their families for the holidays instead of traveling abroad.

Of course there are so many more movies out there to help get you into the mood for the holidays, but hopefully these will make your list for holiday movies this year! Most of these movies can be found on Amazon or by visiting a local retailer like Wal-Mart or Best Buy.

What’s your favorite holiday movie? Let us know by leaving a comment!
